Canon MX439 printer error 5100

Issue: When the message "Printer error has occurred 5100" is displayed, the behavior of the FINE cartridge holder is interrupted.

1.     Is there a jammed paper or foreign material inside the printer?
Stop printing, then push the power button of the printer to turn OFF the printer.
Open the paper output cover of the printer, and if you find a jammed paper or foreign material is inside the printer, remove it. [Paper Jams]

After checking the above items, push the power button to turn ON the printer again.

When removing the jammed paper or foreign material, take extra care so that you do not touch the inner parts. Or, it may cause another printing problem. Removing a paper jam or an obstruction
Check the encoder film conditions, and clean it if it is smeared

The printer detects the position of the FINE cartridge holder by the encoder film. If the film is smeared, the holder position cannot be detected properly, resulting in faulty printing.

Check the encoder film condition and clean it if it is smeared, while following the procedures below.

Sending from canon MX432 / MX439 using a calling (credit) card

A calling (or credit) card can be used when sending faxes locally, long distance or even overseas. Please see the back of the card for instructions on the exact dialing sequence. For instance, dial the toll free number provided by the vendor just as you would to make a regular phone call. If you are prompted to enter the calling card, do so - as you normally would. If a PIN (access code) has to be entered before the fax number is dialed, do so.

To send a fax using a credit card, it is recommended to add pauses before the next string of dialing digits. The above example shows how a credit card is used to dial a long distance fax number. To provide time before the credit card numbers are dialed and avoid misdialing, pauses should be added. Pauses should also be added to allow time before the access code and long distance number are dialed .

Example:
18005551212pp4011343339849402pp52364pp15163283111

The number of pauses will depend on the provider's system and the switching offices.

It is suggested to confirm if the time before the next set of digits is dialed will always be constant. This way you can always use the same number of pauses for that dialing sequence. If needed, you can also change the pause [Pause time settings] length from its default 2 seconds to 9 seconds.
If you use Coded speed dialing to send faxes, you can program the entire dialing string in each speed dial or program parts of the dialing sequence into specific speed dials. (You can program a maximum of 40 digits for each speed dial.) Programming parts of the dialing sequence is more reliable than trying to determine how many pauses to include in the dialing string. Review these suggestions to assist you in sending a successful fax using a calling or credit card.

Program the 800 number you use to reach your provider on to a speed dial.

Program the calling or credit card on to a different speed dial.

Program the access code (if applicable) on to another speed dial.

Program the fax number on to another speed dial or you can enter the fax number manually.

After all numbers have been programmed as speed dials and you are ready to send a fax,
press the <FAX> button on the operator panel.

Insert the documents face-up on the ADF.

Press <Hook> and confirm you hear a dial tone.
Press the speed dial that represents your calling card provider (800 number).
When you are prompted to enter your calling or credit card, press the appropriate speed dial.
If you are prompted to enter an access code, press the speed dial for that code.
When prompted to enter the fax number, press the speed dial or manually dial the number using the numeric keypad. Read More ( )

Canon BJ 330 Prints Light

"I have a canonBJ330 that starts printing light and prints nothing. This only happens approx once every 2 months. The unit has ink and it still thinks it's printing but there is no ink on the paper. This has happened a couple of times and so far I haven't figured out what it is that I do to 'correct' the problem.

I was thinking that there must be a way to clean the printhead that is not in the service manual. Which I do not have, anyway."

On my DeskJet, I just blow gently into the vent hole on the ink cartridge. I then wipe off blob of ink that forms on on the head and it works like a charm - if you don't get ink all over everything. Perhaps, try the following first:

Remove the sponge from the purge cap carefully, try washing in water carefully, and reinstall it:

·       Remove the top cover to expose the printer power on the printer when the printhead moves away from home position SHUT OFF the power. Read More ( )

Reset canon printer to resolve error conditions or if printer does not respond

Resetting the Printer

By resetting the printer's power, the print buffer is cleared and certain sensors are reset. If there is invalid data in the buffer, or sensors are stuck in a particular mode; a message may appear.

Follow these steps to reset the printer:

Turn the printer off with the Power button (if available).
Disconnect the data cable from the printer (not applicable to WiFi, Bluetooth or Infrared) .
Unplug the printer's power cord for approximately 10 minutes, and then plug it back in. If troubleshooting a communication issue, reconnect the data cable (not applicable to WiFi, Bluetooth or Infrared).
Turn the printer back on.

Note:

If resetting the printer does not work, please attempt any other solutions that appeared in your search results. If this is a hardware message on the printer, the printer may need to be repaired.
If the above recommendations do not help you resolve the error, the printer will need to be repaired.
